Events listed in this year’s Abu Dhabi calendar could be significantly disrupted due to the Iran War. We’re doing our best to update with postponements and cancellations.

Abu Dhabi Events January 2026

  • New Year’s Day, 1 January 2026, is always a UAE Public Holiday. Public services will be closed, and some tourist attractions, shopping malls, and dining establishments may have unusual opening hours. Always check with the establishment before turning up.
  • Catch the last few days of the Liwa International Festival, concluding on 3 January 2026 – Liwa Village
  • The Etihad Arena is sure to host some big names in 2026 and will kick off the year with internationally renowned American rock band Linkin Park performing as part of their From Zero World Tour on January 20.
  • Saadiyat Nights, a brilliant open-air concert series, will return in winter 2026. The lineup so far includes Diana Ross, Lewis Capaldi, Ricky Martin, John Mayer, and Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi are confirmed – Saadiyat Island (map)
  • Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out will be hitting the stage from 30 January to 1 February 2026 Etihad Arena
  • Emirati Cultural Event Al Hosn Festival will take place from 17 January to 1 February 2026Al Hosn, Abu Dhabi City

Abu Dhabi Events February 2026

  • Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Tennis WTA 500 (Women’s Tournament) will take place from 31 January to 7 FebruaryAbu Dhabi International Tennis Centre
  • The UAE National Orchestra will debut Season 1 in Abu Dhabi with ‘Faces of Love‘ on 4 February 2026 and ‘Vivaldi: A Journey East‘ on 7 February 2026 Abu Dhabi Cultural Fountain/The Arts Center at NYU
  • The Open Masters Games seeks to unite the world through sport in Abu Dhabi, with competitions in 33 different sports from 6-15 February 2026various venues
  • Yas Speed Festival brings plenty of motor sports track action to Yas Island on 7 & 8 February 2026 with the Asian Le Mans Series, Gulf Procar Championship and Gulf Radical Cup all taking place, alongside Yas Motor Majlis Car Meet – Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island
  • Your last chance to catch Saadiyat Nights with Mariah Carey on 7 February 2026, Bryan Adams on 11 February 2026, and John Mayer on 15 February 2026Saadiyat Island
  • A celebration of anime culture in the UAE, Animena Abu Dhabi festival returns from 11 to 15 February 2026 Manarat Al Saadiyat
  • Furusiyya: The Return to Origins offers a unique insight into Arab horsemanship with shows on 7, 14 & 28 February 2026Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts, Al Jubail Island
  • Popular sporting event TriYAS is back for its 16th edition on 14 February 2026Yas Marina Circuit
  • Romance is in the air as Valentine’s Day is widely celebrated at venues across the city. Most offers for Valentine’s Day run only on 14 February, but some hotels have weekโ€”or even month-long offers to look out for.
  • Look out for the UCI UAE Cycling Tour, which will include a women’s race from 5-8 February 2026, and the menโ€™s race between February 16 and 22 various locations.
  • Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival concludes on 28 February 2026 Al Wathba
  • For some more local culture, head along to the Maritime Heritage Festival – dates TBC 2026 – A’l Bahar, Abu Dhabi Corniche
  • The Holy Month of Ramadan will commence on or about the evening of 17 Feb 2026 and last approximately 29-30 days. Note that most live entertainment stops at this time – all religious dates are subject to Moon Sighting.

Abu Dhabi Events March 2026

Abu Dhabi upcoming events from here on in could be impacted by the current Middle East geopolitical situtation

  • Non-Muslims should be aware of daylight fasting over Ramadan, but why not locally join in with an Iftar for breaking of the fast or overnight Suhoor to mark the occasion?
  • International Women’s Day will be widely marked in events and special offers across the city on 8 March 2026various locations
  • Get your colour on for Holi Festivities, set to occur this year on 4 March 2026 various city venues
  • St Patrick’s Day will be widely marked across the city on, 17 March 2026 various city venues
  • Mother’s Day is marked at many city-wide restaurants, cafes, and spas offering specials for the ladies (UAE 21 March; UK 15 March 2026) – various locations
  • The end of Ramadan is marked by Eid-al Fitr celebrations across the city, with special deals on dining extravaganzas /and fireworks. The Public holiday is estimated for 19 March – 22 March 2026 (Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 3)- venues across the city.

Abu Dhabi Events April 2026

  • Easter in Abu Dhabi, although not formally marked as a holiday in the UAE, is widely celebrated in the retail and hospitality industry (Easter Sunday, 5 April, 2026 for Catholics and Anglican Church members (CofE), and Sunday, 12 April, for Orthodox Christians) – church services and events across the city

Abu Dhabi Events May 2026

  • Classical musician Hauser will bout on a stunning stage show to reignite the city on 2 May 2026 – Etihad Arena
  • Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage show CATS will be making its Middle East debut from 14 to 24 May 2026 Etihad Arena
  • Eid Al Adha celebrations and public holidays, including Arafat Day, are estimated to fall 26 to 29 May 2026 (Dhu al Hijjah 9-12) – expect deals and discounts, sky shows, and so much more –generally considered a very busy weekend across the Gulf

Abu Dhabi Events June 2026

  • Hijri New Year (1 Muharram*) is expected to fall on 15 June 2026, with a public holiday possibly being observed (not always)
  • World-renowned Cirque du Soleil will bring their breathtaking stage show Corteo from 12 to 21 June 2026Etihad Arena
  • Abu Dhabi Summer of Sports is expected to return from 28 June through to 18 August 2026ADNEC

Abu Dhabi Events July 2026

  • Most local schools will break up for the summer on 3 July 2026
  • Money Expo will take place from 8-9 July 2026ADNEC
  • Atif Aslam will bring his electrifying stage show to town on 18 July 2026Etihad Arena
  • Liwa Dates Festival, dates for 2026 TBC – Western Region

Abu Dhabi Events August 2026

  • High-energy Filipino girl band Get Get Aww SB Girls will hit the stage 8 August 2026 Etihad Arena
  • The Prophet Mohammed’s birthday will likely be observed on 25 August 2026 by the public sector. 
  • The Broadway production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will come to the stage from 28 August to 6 September 2026 Etihad Arena
  • ADIHEX – The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition takes place from 28 August to 6 September 2026 – ADNEC
  • Schools locally usually return in the last week of August

  • WSL Surf Abu Dhabi Pro will now take place from 14-18 October 2026Surf Abu Dhabi, Hudayriyat Island
  • We expect NBA basketball to make a return with several activations across the city, as well as games held at Etihad Arena
  • Comedian Russell Peters brings his stage show to town on 25 October 2026Etihad Arena
  • We have early news that Irish dance troop Riverdance will make their Abu Dhabi debut from 31 October to 1 November 2026stay tuned for ticketing information
  • Halloween is widely marked both by expat families and the hospitality industry across the city on 31 October.

Abu Dhabi Events November 2026

  • The world’s largest energy conference ADIPEC, takes place from 2 to 5 November 2026 – ADNEC (NB this event always significantly impacts local traffic and hotel availability)
  • Flag Day is an annual celebration taking place on 3 November
  • Diwali is always widely celebrated with the local expat community; expect plenty of dancing and fireworks on and around 8 November 2026.
  • The annual Bedouin heritage festival, the Sheikh Zayed Festival, will return for the winter season from mid-November 2026Al Wathba. 
  • World Triathlon Multisports will take place from 13 to 22 November 2026Hudayriyat Island
  • Abu Dhabi International Boat Show is scheduled for 19 to 22 November 2026ADNEC Marina Hall
  • Off Limits Festival, postponed from April, will now bring headline act Shakira, along with acts such as Jonas Brothers and NE-YO, to this 12-hour open-air event on 21 November 2026Etihad Park
  • US Thanksgiving will be widely celebrated on Thursday, 26 November, in the expat community with elaborate dinners – Various locations
  • Experience pop sensation Tarkan Live on 27 November 2026Etihad Arena
  • We expect a return of the outdoor favourite Taste Abu Dhabi during the month – Yas Gateway Parks
  • The European World Tour Golf is set to return this November, although the dates are still TBC.  Links, Yas Island. 
  • Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge – off-roading event usually held in February, now scheduled for November 2026Liwa Desert
  • SailGP will likely return towards the end of the month – we await news of ticketing and the entertainment line-up.
  • Commemoration Day falls on 30 November 2026, which is not always a public holiday, and has been moved in the past to align with National Day.

Abu Dhabi Events December 2026

  • Eid al Etihad (National/Union Day) – public holiday usually 2 to 3 December (may be a 5-day long weekend this year)
  • Abu Dhabi Grand Prixโ€”Yas Marina Circuit, 4 to 6 December 2026โ€”book tickets early to guarantee entry to this four-day event and the after-concerts held from Thursday to Sunday (so far Zara Larsson and Lewis Capaldi are confirmed!).
  • Or why not try one of these special Grand Prix Brunches and special events to catch the action? Many include entry to the Yasalam after-race concert series.
  • For thrills and spills in the dunes and a good dose of modern Bedouin life in the desert, head out to the Liwa Festival TBC 2026 (roughly 8-31 Dec as a guide) – Liwa, Al Dhafra (Western Region)
  • MOTN – Mother of the Nation Festival Abu Dhabi Corniche and side events in Al Dhafra and Al Ain – exact event dates and timing for 2026 TBC
  • Electronic Dance Festival Sunburn Abu Dhabi will make its UAE debut in December 2026 – TBC
  • Outdoor winter celebration Winter Fest returns to Yas Island 2026 dates TBC – Gateway Park South, Yas Island
  • Christmas 25 December. Despite being a Muslim country, the occasion is widely marked, and you’ll find many festive celebrations occurring across the city, including Christmas Day brunches.
  • New Year’s Eve 2026/27 – always a spirited night out in Abu Dhabi with special dining and drinks deals across the city, along with spectacular fireworks in key city locations, including Yas Bay, Al Maryah Island, the Corniche, and Al Wathba.
