While elaborate Iftar buffet spreads have become the norm in Abu Dhabi for breaking the fast during Ramadan, the lesser-known tradition of Suhoor is becoming a big deal in the capital for Abu Dhabi foodies.
Suhoor (also known internationally as Suhur, Sahลซr, Suhลซr, Sahari, Sahrฤซ, or Sehri) is the pre-dawn meal eaten by fasting Muslims before sunrise. Far from being treated as an early breakfast in Abu Dhabi, it’s a middle-of-the-night dining experience in the United Arab Emirates.
No sooner have restaurants cleared the plates from Iftar gatherings than the tables are reset and doors open for a long, relaxed evening of drinks and dining.
If you are looking to experience suhoor this year, this is our selection of the top 9 Abu Dhabi Suhoor events we recommend you try for a unique and ambient experience during the Holy Month of Ramadan 2026 (1447 in the Hijri calendar).
