Abu Dhabi experiences very hot summers. July is a slightly drier heat than August, but still exceptionally hot and can be very muggy. Most events and activities go on hold over the hottest part of the year as many expatriates disappear to their home countries over the hottest part of the year.

Abu Dhabi weather in July

Abu Dhabi’s average day time maximum temperature in July is 38.9c (102F), with highs as much as 47.9c (118.2F) and average lows overnight down to 32.3c (90.1F).

In July, you should expect sea temperatures on average of 32.8c (91F)). Maximum sea temperatures are expected of 34.9c (93.1F) through to a minimum 30.8c (89F).

Abu Dhabi special events in July

Due to Coronavirus most major events in Abu Dhabi have been cancelled for July 2020.

  • UFC 251 will be hosted on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island from 11 to 26 July. It will be a no-spectator event, but broadcast live around the world. Many venues on Yas Island will be closed off while event is held.

Suggested Abu Dhabi activities in July

Due to the extreme weather and conditions in July, we suggest keeping to indoor activities. Why not try;

  • The Louvre Abu Dhabi – reopened on 24 June and following strict Covid precautionary measures.
  • Observation 300 – afternoon tea at Etihad Towers, or simply enjoy the views from the observation deck at one of Abu Dhabi’s most unique modern buildings.

Day trips from Abu Dhabi in July

Due to surrent Coronavirus restrictions, day tripping from Abu Dhabi during July is heavily restricted and not recommended.
